Mindterm 2.2 on OS X

I've purhcased, downloaded and installed Mindterm 2.2.

It works fine under Windows and under UNIX. Mac OS X.1.5 is a different 
story.

Both IE and Mozilla give me: Start: applet not initialized after 
putting up the standard grant/deny dialogues for java applets. To 
further the mystery, I can run the java applet locatated at 
http://CHS.CUSD.Claremont.Edu/www/computing/mindterm/ in IE.

I'm not sure what the difference between there and here is.
