Unless you are a webmaster or actually want to set up a web page at the 
univerity you should use the MT application in stead of the applet, like this:
Run this on your workstation at home to access the university:
java -jar mindterm.jar
To get access to the univerity you need to have an ssh-account at the 
university. You might also not get access to the server you want to reach 
directly but might have to go though a ssh login server. From there you can 
ssh to the actual server.

If you are trying to reach your home server from the university you could set 
up an applet on your home server.

You should also get the latest MT (2.2?, NOT 2.1!). Contact CRT at www.crt.se 
to get an upgrade. I guess you as a student should get it for free.
