problem with 2.3.1 and MacOS (pre X)

Thanks i'll try that soon to be sure (as the macos 9 box isnt currently in
working order. However this work around may be of limited value, as the
machiens in which i would want to run a java ssh client on are generally
ones in which I dont have the ability to fiddle with the contents of the
system. So again what next? I am attempting to figure out how to build the
source with the tools I have (which i currently do not know how to use.
