Mindterm File Operations Disabled

Mindterm 2.3.1; RH 9; JVM 1.4.2beta, SSH 1.99 

When I start mindterm, the startup window says, "file operations disabled,
server identity cannot be verified."  The server has a self signed certificate.

Is there anyway to enable the file operations under this situation?
