Mindterm 3.0 beta available

A beta of what will eventually become MindTerm 3.0 is now available. We
aim for a beta period of approximately 2 weeks, but that will depend on
the number of issues found.

The 3.0 beta is available on the download page at
    http://www.appgate.com/mindterm

The main changes since 2.4.2 are:
* Additional, Swing based, GUI added
  A new GUI has been coded in Swing. The old AWT-based GUI is still
  present and will be used if needed. The new Swing-based GUI is much
  better looking.

* Implemented Tandem 6530 terminal emulator
  The terminal window can now emulate a Tandem 6530 terminal.

* New SOCKS proxy
  MindTerm can now act as a SOCKS server. MindTerm handles the
  requests and converts them to new port forwards.

* Improved documentation
  The API documentation has been expanded to cover more classes.

* Builds with Java 1.5
  This version of MindTerm can be build with Java 1.5

* New and updated examples
  The included examples have been updated a new examples have been added.

* File transfer improvements
  The earlier code failed to transfer files larger than 2Gb, this
  version does not. The new version also uses asynchronous mode by
  default which gives a significant performance boost.

* New SSH protocol features supported
  This version add support for the ssh newmodes draft, as well as the
  zlib at openssh.com compression mode and the new arcfour mode. It also
  supports the diffie-hellman-group14-sha1 key exchange method.

* Updated BackSpace/Delete key handling
  The code handling the Delete and BackSpace keys has been revamped to
  have better defaults and more flexibility.

* DNS round-robin
  Tries to contact all IP-addresses specified in DNS until the
  connection succeeds.

* Faster terminal
  Some speedups have been applied to the terminal emulator.

* No longer uses javamake
  The build process no longer requires javamake. Instead everything is
  built through ant.

* Removed support for old Netscape 4
  Removed the specific code which supported the old Netscape 4 Java
  implementation.

* Lots of bug fixes
  The version fixes a lot of bugs and small annoyances.

* Changed license
  The license has been updated. The only significant change is that
  the number of users permitted under the free use clause has been
  decreased to 25.
