tab doesn't work on MacOS

When using the applet from a webpage, tab doesn't work on
MacOS 10.3.9, but it does from WinXP/JVM 1.5. When I say
"tab doesn't work", that also means if I type '<control>-I'
no tab character is sent, as well as if I use the tab key
itself.

There is no problem with the tab key using MacOS and
mindterm 2.4.2 and an otherwise identical setup.
