mindterm from behind ISA server?

Greetings.  PC is on a LAN behind Microsoft ISA Server.  When PC is running
Windows XP-Pro, mindterm works fine.  When PC is running Linux, only
"Connection refused" or "Connection timed out" (when trying all sorts
of proxy setting combinations).  Any good hints?  Thanks.
