Problem with function keys

Hello,

I’m using mindterm to connect to a Linux box (openSUSE 10.2). Mindterm
itself also runs on Linux in that case, the Java version is 1.5.0_12,
but I think that should not matter.

While everything works fine, function keys (F1...F12) don’t work. The
terminal type chosen in Mindterm is “xterm”, and $TERM is also set to
“xterm” as usual.

I tested with both Mutt and Midnight Commander. I know that Midnight
Commander can deal with Alt-1 to Alt-0 workaround, but there are other
applications where this doesn’t work or where Alt-1 has another
meaning than F1.

“read” in mindterm tells me ^[[11~ if I press “F1” and with a plain
xterm it tells me ^[OP.

I hope that somebody can help here. :-)
